REACT: MALAYSIANS ROASTED MASTER CHEF'S CHICKEN RENDANG ‘CRISPY’

Chicken rendang ‘CRISPY’

Nasi lemak Zaleha's controversy

Hello Guys,

It’s been awhile ..yes I know…I didn’t update anything..so lazy..huhuhu..Ok. Now I want to talk about Chicken rendang ‘CRISPY’ by UK MasterChef..WOW!!!!! Gregg Wallace and John Torode sparked a storm by criticising Malaysian-born contestant Zaleha Kadir Olpin’s dish because the “chicken skin isn’t crispy, it can’t be eaten”. Indonesians and Malaysians have criticised MasterChef UK’s decision to eliminate a contestant because her chicken rendang was not crispy.

Crispy chicken rendang? Did the judges think that this was fish and chips? Calling themselves 'celebrity chefs' when they only know about food from their own culture. Such limited knowledge of cuisine from around the world. Shame on them really. They clearly weren't familiar with food from other parts of the world because if they were, they would have had the knowledge to know what real RENDANG is…kannn..

Foodies in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia have taken to social media to vent at the critique of the Malaysian-born cook's traditional and standard method for preparing chicken rendang. and even our prime minister, Najib Razak, waded into the debate, saying: “Who eats ‘crispy’ chicken rendang?” ..hahhahah..so funny !! The British high commissioner to Malaysia, Vicki Treadell – who was born in the country – also tweeted at the judges. “Rendang is an iconic Malaysian national dish … It is never crispy & should also not be confused with the fried chicken sometimes served with nasi lemak,” she wrote. ..Hurmmm….macam-macam…DON’T MESS WITH RENDANG OK…Later if I cook rendang I will post the recipe…bubye GUYS…
