RESEPI 62: CHILI SQUID WITH EGG | SAMBAL SOTONG BERTELUR


This is an easy chili squid recipe that anyone can make at home. Let’s check it out!




Ingredients
1 small bowl squids
1 egg
3-5 kaffir lime leaves
2 shallots – blend
2 cloves of garlic - blend
4-5 Thai Chilies – blend
½ shrimp paste - blend
3 tbsp. chili paste
1 tsp sweet soy sauce
1 tbsp. sugar
Dash of salt or to taste

Method:
In large wok, add 2 to 3 tbsp. oil. Let oil heat for a moment, then add the chili paste and blend ingredients.  Stir-fry on medium fire for 5 minutes until fragrant and oil separated from paste.
Add in sweet soy sauce and 1 cup of water and stir everything together. Cover for 3-4 minutes.
Then add egg and kaffir lime leaves. Stir well.
Add the squids and wait about 3 mins.
Add sugar and salt. Season it well based on your taste.
Done. Serve the squids on a platter and garnish with chopped spring onions. – I don’t have this.
