REVIEW: MARRYBROWN’S MALA-TUP FRIED CHICKEN

Marrybrown is introducing their new menu MALA-TUP FRIED CHICKEN From 28 October 2020 till 13 December 2020. The MALA-TUP FRIED CHICKEN is marinated in Sichuan chili pepper along with dried chili to bring the heat especially for those who enjoy spicy food.



The MALA-TUP FRIED CHICKEN comes in a 2-pc Mala Chicken combo meal or 3-pc Mala Chicken combo meal, which is priced at RM15.90 and RM18.80 respectively. The combo meal will be accompanied by a sizable amount of mashed potato, vegetable salad, and a drink.




As for me, there is a punch of flavors at the first bite before the intense spicy flavor of the MALA-TUP FRIED CHICKEN in the mouth which leaving my tongue a bit numb.

I love spicy food, but this level of spiciness is quite high. The chicken a bit dry. All in all, I would have to say that this new menu is quite good, and I will be enjoyed if it is juicier.

REVIEW: ANA IKAN BAKAR PETAI TANJUNG LUMPUR, KUANTAN

Selamat Pagi. Hope you guys have an amazing blessed day!

As you all know, the conditional movement control order (CMCO) for Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya as well as Sabah will be extended until Dec 6, 2020. The latest extension is in line with the CMCO placed on other states Kedah, Penang, Perak, Negeri Sembilan, Malacca, Johor, and Terengganu in Peninsular Malaysia announced yesterday. The only states not affected are Perlis, Pahang, Kelantan, and Sarawak. However, folks in those states are not allowed to travel to other states but inter-district travel is allowed.

Dengan ini, banyak sector ekonomi akan terjejas terutama pelancongan dan aviation adalah antara sector yang paling teruk terjejas dan dijangka paling lambat untuk pulih. I’m working in aviation sector and the “heat” tu memang terkesan. Hopefully, with this extended CMCO, the number of cases will reduced. Aamin….

Okay,hari nie I nak review satu tempat makan di Kuantan Pahang yang terletak di Tanjung Lumpur.

Nama Restaurant      : Ana Ikan Bakar Petai

Review

Tanjung Lumpur is the highlight of my trip to Kuantan to eat seafood. Dan kebetulan tempat yang we wanna go tu tutup, so my hubby suggested to go here, Ana Ikan Bakar Petai. It’s very crowded even I go around 6.00 PM. I think we waited for 45 mins for the food to be served. You choose your fish; they write your table no and pass to Grill /Kitchen person. 



The restaurant offers a good range of fresh seafood, however; the taste of the food is just average. Nothing to shout about. There is nothing special about their usual dishes, but people are there for the seafood. We waited for 45 minutes for the ikan siakap masak pedas ,sotong goreng tepung, ketam salted egg dan kalian ikan masin. The drink quite fast because we ordered air kelapa and coconut shake near our seating and paid once received the drink. Staffs were friendly.

Rating: 3/5 - Not a restaurant that we would patronize again simply because the food wasn't great.

RESEPI 84: IKAN BAWAL EMAS MASAK SINGGANG

Hi Semua! How are you? Hope you guys have an extraordinary day!

Hari ini adalah hari ke-4 CMCO extended. I’m still working from home and I’m not so productive yet. Frankly speaking, I’m not preferring to work from home. Okaylah, jom check resepi untuk hari ini which is ikan bawal emas masak singgang. My favourite lazy day recipe and it taste so good with sambal belacan. Senang sangat nak masak singgang ni. Tak perlu nak menumis  dan tak perlu nak tunggu lama. Paling suka sebab cepat masak.

 BAHAN-BAHAN

1 Ekor Ikan bawal Emas (Potong 2)

4 keping asam keping

2 btg serai- ketuk

½ sdk Maggi Cukup Rasa

Garam

Air secukupnya

4 Ulas bawang putih -hiris halus

1 biji bawang besar -hiris halus

½ inch Halia -hiris halus

4-5 Batang bendi

Sedikit belacan

 

CARA-CARA

Masukkan hirisan bawang putih, bawang besar, halia, serai, air dan sedikit belacan dalam periuk. Tunggu hingga mendidih. Kalau nak kuah lebih letak air lebih. Setelah mendidih,masukkan ikan, asam keping dan bendi yang dah siap dibasuh . Perasakan dengan Maggi Cukup Rasa dan garam dan tunggu sampai masak.

Siap & Selamat Mencuba!



Walaupun rupanya tidak berapa menarik tetapi rasanya "Padu".....boleh repeat perpinggan-pinggan nasi.

RESEPI 83 : LALA MASAK LEMAK CILI PADI

Hello guys!

What are you doing? Sihat tak? So, today is the 1st day of conditional movement control order (CMCO) extended for another two weeks until Nov 9, 2020, at Kuala Lumpur, Selangor & Putrajaya. The decision was made due to the recommendation of the Ministry of Health (MoH), based on the fact that there are still high-risk locations in these three locations.

 Currently, I’m working at home and will start work in the office next week. Alright, now we proceed to today's menu/recipe. So hari ni resepi yang I nak share is Lala masak lemak cili padi. This is a really spicy dish ok and for those yang tak tahan pedas sila kurangkan cili padi ok. Let’s check it out!

 


BAHAN-BAHAN

½ kg Lala

1 Kotak Santan Kara

4 keping asam keping

2 btg serai- ketuk

½ sdk Maggi Cukup Rasa

1 sdk Garam

Air secukupnya

 

BAHAN KISAR

10 bj cili padi

1 sdk kunyit serbuk

2 Ulas bawang putih

1 biji bawang besar

½ inch Halia

 

CARA-CARA

Masukkan serai, bahan kisar dan air dalam periuk. Masak dengan api sederhana sehingga mendidih. Masuk pula santan Kara dan kacau sehingga sebati. Kalau nak cair letak air lagi. Masak dalam 5 minit. Make sure kacau ya untuk elak santan pecah. Kemudian masuk lala, asam keping dan Maggi Cukup Rasa. Tunggu sehingga lala masak dan dikacau selalu. Perasakan dengan garam.

REVIEW: THE CHICKEN RICE SHOP - FLAMING KOLI

How are you? Hope you guys have an amazing day! Today, I would like to review The Chicken Rice Shop new menu.

 


The Chicken Rice Shop is lighting up with a new menu for this Deepavali which features an exclusive dish named Flaming Koli. This chicken dish is available until 15th November 2020. Inspired by the aromas of Indian cuisine, TCRS puts in careful consideration to recreate and replicate the flavourful dish in this exclusive Deepavali menu.

 


"Flaming Koli" is made of light Indian spices and blends the taste buds of Malaysians.

I can literally taste the spices and sweet curry flavors, but I don’t taste the spiciness or the flaming chilies. I think I have a high tolerated level of spiciness. The sauce is thick, and it goes well with the rice. The overall dish feels like the comfort of home-cooked food during the festive season. Somehow, I taste like ‘rendang + curry’.

By the way, for your information, I bought the dish through #foodpanda and this is how it looks like when you take away the dish.

REVIEW: MCD SPICY KOREAN BURGER

Hi there! How are you? Hope you guys have an amazing wonderful day!

Recently, McDonald's Malaysia has just released the new Spicy Korean Burger. The burger is part of McDonald's Malaysia's 'Discover the World' campaign that introduces unique world-famous flavors to local diners. The Spicy Korean Burger comes with a side of crisp chips and an ice-cold cup of Frozen Fanta. The difference from other McD’s burgers is the use of charcoal buns in place of the classic sesame-sprinkled buns. The Spicy Korean burger features mixed vegetables, grilled onions, and a special spicy Korean sauce, tucked between charcoal buns together with a grilled kimchi-seasoned beef or chicken patty.

Review

I think I’m just going to talk about the beef Spicy Korean Burger. The buns are ok especially when put together with those grilled onions and I think this was a pretty tasty application as I love onions. The sauce isn’t spicy as not up to my level of spiciness. Generally, I think it is a similar version of their Smokey Grilled Beef burger sauce.





Worth to buy?

OK for a one-time experience.

REVIEW: FIRST IMPRESSION TRYING MYEONGDONG TOPOKKI!




Hello guys! How are you? Hope you guys have an amazing fantastic day.

A few months ago, I finally got to try Korean food from MyeongDong Topokki! I've heard of its multiple times and I was craving for it so bad. Unfortunately, I’m not eating at the restaurant but ordered through food panda. I have ordered 2 dishes which are Myeongdong Topokki and Kimbap. MyeongDong Topokki’s specialty is topokki, the medley of rice cakes and fish cakes served with steaming-hot in gochujang sauce.



Taste-wise, I love the sauce with extra spicy. The rice cakes wonderfully chewy "cakes" made from basically compressed rice. That texture is addictive; they are just fantastically chewy, and I love them.



How about Kimbap?

Describing Kimbap is a bit more difficult. Yes, it begins with rice and yes, it has seaweed, but it is there that the similarities between sushi and kimbap end and Intended to be a one-bite food. I think it has cucumber, egg, and carrot.




How about the price?

For me, the price is quite expensive for that small portion.

So overall my first impression of trying Myeongdong Topokki was good. I would like to give 4/5 for these 2 dishes.

RESEPI 82 : AYAM MASAK LEMAK CILI PADI DENGAN TERUNG



Hi guys! Dah bekerja di office ke? I next week start work in the office. Alhamdulillah. Lega la sikit. Bekerja di rumah ni banyak sangat distraction and for me amat low productivity. Okey, now nk share dengan uols my recipe ayam masak lemak cili padi dengan terung. Selalunya I masak lemak cili padi nie letak timun , rebung, daun ubi kayu but kali ni 1st time try masak dengan terung. Actually rasa semua sama. Cuma bezanya adalah sayur apa yang kita letak. As for me, I suka lagi kalau makan dengan rebung atau pucuk ubi kayu. Plus tumbuk sambal belacan. So yummy!

BAHAN-BAHAN
7 ketul ayam
1 batang terung (1st time buat guna 1 batang terung sebab takut tak sedap)
1 Kotak Santan Kara
2 keping asam keping
2 btg serai- ketuk
½ sdk Maggi Cukup Rasa
1 kiub ayam Knor
Air secukupnya

BAHAN KISAR
10 bj cili padi
1 sdk kunyit serbuk
2 Ulas bawang putih
1 biji bawang besar

CARA-CARA
Masukkan bahan kisar, ayam , serai dan air dalam periuk. Masak dengan api sederhana sehingga ayam masak.
Masuk pula santan Kara dan kacau sehingga sebati. Kalau nak cair letak air lagi. Masak dalam 5 minit. Make sure kacau ya untuk elak santan pecah.
Kemudian masuk terung, asam keping, kiub ayam Knor dan Maggi Cukup Rasa. Tunggu sehingga terung lembut dan dikacau selalu.
Masak hingga mendidih.
Siap!

REVIEW: GRAND DARUL MAKMUR HOTEL

How are you? I hope you guys have an amazing day! It’s been awhile I’m not updating any review. So today, with a lovely, beautiful day, I would like to review one of the hotels that I visit recently.

Grand Darul Makmur Hotel Kuantan is in the heart of Kuantan town amidst the commercial business center. This leading 4-star Hotel has been immaculately designed giving a perfect balance between business and leisure, offering facilities and services of international standard and unrivaled ambiance. Grand Darul Makmur Hotel Kuantan features 3 dining options, a sauna, and an outdoor pool. It also features a gym, a children’s playground, and free WiFi access. The hotel is a 5-minute drive from East Coast Mall and Berjaya Megamall. It is A 20-minute drive from Kuantan Airport and a 45-minute drive from Cherating Beach. Fyi due to the Convid-19 situation, all the facilities at the hotel were closed.

My Verdict:
Overall of my staying at the hotel, I can give 3/5.

Good
Very spacious soundproofed rooms at Grand Darul Makmur Hotel Kuantan come with a seating area. They feature a flat-screen TV with cable channels, a personal safe and a private bathroom with hot water facilities, and a hairdryer. Tea/coffee making facilities and a mini-fridge are included. This is what I like about the room.
Strategic Location – near shopping malls
The staff was good and fast check-in








Need to Improve
The AC controller in my room is not functioning well.
It is an inconvenience to walk from the car park to the hotel. You either must use the stairs or walk along the ramp.



The breakfast is not value for money and not worth trying. The food at the coffee house should have additional variety. I paid RM25 per Pax and I only received 1 a plate of small portion nasi goreng, a refillable cup of tea/coffee, cereal, and toasted bread with 2 choices of spread. 

Price    :           RM175/per nite included breakfast

                        RM125/per nite without breakfast

                        (Walk-in rate)

Room  :           Deluxe Room

I will visit this hotel again, but not with breakfast, but for the spacious room. I think this is the worst breakfast ever delivered by a 4-star hotel.

RESEPI 81: IKAN SIAKAP MANIS MASAM PEDAS | FRIED SEA BASS WITH SWEET SOUR SPICY SAUCE


Hi guys!
How are you? I hope you guys have an amazing day. Today, I would like to share one of my favorites dine-in menu at Thailand restaurant. For this recipe, you could use another type of fish if you prefer, but the sea bass was the best fresh fish available to us at the time. This sweet-sour spicy fish dish is that simple and yet it left me gastronomically satisfied. This dish would go well with rice as there is lots of sauce! Find it hard to believe? Well, give the following sweet-sour spicy recipe a try then!



INGREDIENTS
1 whole fish   Sea bass, cleaned
1 tbsp             Corn flour
7 cloves          Garlic, chopped
2                      Holland Onion, diced
15                    Thai chilies, sliced
2-inch             Ginger, sliced
4                      Kaffir lime leaves, sliced
3                      lemongrasses, sliced
3 tbsp             Chili sauce
2 tbsp             Chili Paste
3 tbsp             Oyster sauce
1 tbsp             tomato sauce
1 tbsp             Sugar
1 tbsp             Sweet Soy sauce
1 tsp               Fish sauce
1 tsp               Lime juice




METHODS
Heat oil.
Baste sea bass with cornflour and fry till golden-brown.
In a separate pan, add oil, garlic, and onions. Stir fry till fragrant.
Then add chili paste and cook about 5-10 minutes.
Add ginger, chilies, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, sweet soy sauce, chili sauce, tomato sauce, sugar, fish sauce and oyster sauce, and 1 cup of water. Stir till all ingredients combine and thicken into a sauce.
Turn off heat and pour lime juice. Stir.
Then pour the sauce over freshly fried fish.
Enjoy the crispy deliciousness of the fish with steam rice!

RESEPI 80: AYAM BERLADO


Hi guys! How are you? I hope you guys have an amazing Sunday night. 

Esok kerja uolssss but work from home (WFH) until 12 May 2020 and further notice. So esok start dapat motivation message “Please continue to ensure productivity and strive to get as much done even while working from home”. Hurmmmmm…Okey , so jom check it out my ayam berlado resepi Ramadhan version.




BAHAN-BAHAN KISAR KASAR
1 biji bawang besar
5 ulas bawang putih
12 btg cili api Thai merah
3 btg cili besar merah
½ inch halia

BAHAN-BAHAN LAIN
1 mangkuk kecil ayam – Hiris ketulan kecil (Goreng dengan garam kunyit)
2 sdb gula
½ sdk garam
½ sdk serbuk Maggi Cukup Rasa
5 helai daun limau purut

CARA-CARA
Tumis bahan-bahan kisar dengan 1 cawan air hingga pecah minyak.
Masukkan ayam yg telah digoreng dengan kunyit dan garam. Gaul hingga rata dan masukkan ½ cawan air . Masak dalam 5 minit hingga air sedikit kering.
Masukkan pula gula, garam, serbuk Maggi Cukup rasa dan daun limau purut. Gaul hingga sekata. Siap!

Senang sangat. Menu untuk sahur ataupun berbuka.

RESEPI 79: GULAI @ KARI KETAM | CRAB CURRY


Hi guys! How are you? I hope you guys have a wonderful day.

Hari ini, kita masak ketam pula. Actually, dah habis ketandusan idea untuk masak. Nasib baik mr. hubby bagi idea dan carikan bahan-bahan untuk masak. Kami berdua sahaja, tapi kadang-kadang masak macam untuk 3-5 orang. So far, semua yang dimasak habis dimakan walaupun sampai lewat malam.



Okay, jom tengok resepi gulai ketam dari utara Kedah.

BAHAN-BAHAN
5 Ekor Ketam Saiz Sederhana  - Dibersihkan Dan Potong 2
1 Kotak Kecil Santan Kara
1 Biji Bawang Besar- Dihiris
3 Ulas Bawang Putih - Dihiris
1 Inch Halia-  Dihiris
1 Packet Serbuk Kari Adabi Ketam, Udang
1 Sdb Cili Kisar
1 Mangkuk Kecil Air Asam Jawa
Daun Kari
1 Sdk Maggi Cukup Rasa
1 Sdk Gula
½ Sdk Garam

CARA-CARA
Panaskan minyak, tumis bawang besar, bawang putih, halia dan daun kari hingga naik bau.
Kemudian masukkan serbuk kari yang sudah dibancuh dengan sedikit air dan juga masukkan cili kisar. Tumis hingga pecah minyak.
Lepas tu masukkan ketam, air asam jawa dan sedikit air. Tunggu mendidih dalam 5-10 minit.
Kemudian masukkan santan dan kacau untuk elak santan jadi berketul2 dan tunggu sampai mendidih. Agak-agak ketam tu dah nak masak, perasakan dengan garam, gula dan Maggi cukup rasa. Ikut lidah masing-masing ya .
Kacau dan tambahkan air sekiranya terlalu pekat. Masak dalam 5 -10 minit lagi dan siap!

Senang jer masak gulai nie sebab tak banyak bahan . Tapi kalau uols nak tambah pineapple, silakan. My hubby tak minat letak buah-buahan dalam masakan, so iols tak letak.
