RESEPI 53: SIMPLE TOM YAM @ THAI SOUR SOUP

I love to cook Tom Yam because it is so easy to make and of course the flavor. It’s a bit spicy, a bit sour and makes my taste buds dance with enjoyment.

Tom yam was originally from Thailand. It is a type of hot and sour Thai soup and usually I will make as spicy as I can.  The words "Tom Yam" are derived from two Thai words. Tom refers to the boiling process, while Yam refers to a Thai spicy and sour salad. Tom yam is known by its distinct hot and sour flavors with fragrant spices and herbs generously used in the broth. The soup is also made with fresh ingredients such as lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, galangal, lime juice, fish sauce, and crushed red chili peppers. Some people also put coconut milk or evaporated milk in the broth.
